The Experimental Music and Digital Media (EMDM) Studio at Louisiana State University is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 2017 Electric LaTex electronic music festival on October 27-28. Electric LaTex will include three concerts plus one late-night set of works by students from the studios of the University of North Texas, University of Texas at Austin, Tulane University, Rice University, and Louisiana State University.

Concerts will be held in two concert performance spaces and one after-hours space:

  • The Digital Media Center (DMC) Theatre features 72 channels of audio through 96 speakers as well as 4K projection. Highly multichannel works are encouraged in order to take advantage of the capabilities afforded by this space.
  • The School of Music Recital Hall includes an 8-channel system (plus sub), and may include monitors for stage pieces with live performers. Concert pianos are available in this space.

The late-night set will be held at Tin Roof brewery where we will have a stereo setup.

  • Concert 1 – Friday Oct 27, 7:30pm, School of Music Recital Hall
  • Concert 2 – Saturday Oct 28, 11:00am, School of Music Recital Hall
  • Concert 3 – Saturday Oct 28, 3:30pm, Digital Media Center Theater
  • Concert 4 – Saturday Oct 28, 7:30pm, Tin Roof Brewing Company

The concerts will feature LSU musicians: Taylor Barbay Assad – Saxophone (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone) and Brian Elizondo – Percussion, both also graduate students at LSU.
